Have you ever heard of this beautiful song Rise Up by Andra Day? I’ve been listening to it almost daily this year. Here are the lyrics that stick:
“You’re broken down and tired
Of living life on a merry go round
And you can’t find the fighter
But I see it in you so we gonna walk it out
And move mountains”
And on the days I don’t know what else to do I walk. I walk out the weariness and that feeling of oh my god I have another mountain to conquer. I have stuck with 10,000 steps a day since October, it seems to be the magic number to “walk it out.” And to my surprise I feel ok afterwards, I like to leave it on the road, the stress, the worry, the fears. And I feel like I am rising up to meet the challenge and I will continue to push forward.
Here is the next piece of her song I love:
“And I’ll rise up
I’ll rise like the day
I’ll rise up
I’ll rise unafraid
I’ll rise up
And I’ll do it a thousand times again”
I just keep rising, and I will do it again and again. Find an anthem, find something to cling to- a word, a mantra, something that inspires you to move through these hard times. You can use this song, it’s beautiful. Turn up the volume!
This is how the collective consciousness works together, we rise and bring others with us on our journey. Hope you’ll join me.
Here’s to moving mountains!
Much love,
Peg
